By Air:
From Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) you can get a flight
to Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Available domestic flights are provided by
Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and AirAsia's low cost flight. If you are
really on budget, you can also get the Firefly flight, which is
departing at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang. From Kota
Bharu airport, you get a taxi direct to Kuala Besut jetty (NOT Tok
Bali jetty). Kuala Besut is a small town and it is the nearest
gateway to Perhentian Islands from the mainland.
By Train:
If you're from Kuala Lumpur International Aiport, you can get a
direct Express Rail Link (ERL) to KL Sentral. KLIA Ekspres is the
fastest way of getting to KL Sentral from KLIA; a non-stop journey
takes approximately 28 minutes. But if you're from LCCT (Low Cost
Carrier Terminal), you can either take a SkyBus to KL Sentral or
take a shuttle bus to KLIA's main terminal and than get an ERL to KL
Sentral. At KL Sentral you can get a train to Tanah Merah Station in
Kelantan. You can check out the train schedules at KTM's website.
From Tanah Merah you need to take a bus or taxi towards Kuala Besut.
By Coach:
Get an express coach from Hentian Putra Terminal (opposite PWTC).
Some of the express coach companies only stop at Jerteh Bus
Terminal, and you need to get taxi to Kuala Besut jetty. Among the
express coach companies, Mahligai Express is one the company that
travels directly to the Kuala Besut jetty. (+603 4042 8533)
