Malaysia - Emergency First Response CPR First Aid Instructor training in Perhentian Island Malaysia.

As at 2005 Emergency First Response Instructor Course is an extended 2-day course. AsEFR Instructor Training an EFR Instructor you may provide interested individuals with the training necessary in EFR Primary Care (CPR), EFR Secondary Care (First Aid) and Care for Children courses (including optional recommended skills, AED and emergency oxygen.) This course builds on your skills as primary and secondary care providers and focuses on developing your instructional abilities. Through independent study, classroom sessions and practice teaching assignments you will learn to organize, conduct, market and promote the EFR programs. The class emphasizes hands-on skill practice and demonstrations and builds self-confidence.

Entry Requirements:
To enroll in an EFR Instructor Course, an individual must:

  • Have completed the Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR) course within the past 24 months
  • Have completed the Emergency First Response Secondary Care (First Aid) course within the past 24 months
  • Have completed the Emergency First Response Care for Children course within the past 24 months

Note: EFR Instructor Training
Practicing medical professionals (e.g. paramedics, EMT's, nurses and doctors) are not required to have completed the Emergency Fist Response Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid) and Care for Children courses. Although participating in these provider level courses is beneficial, it isn't required since professional medical training serves as an equivalent.

Emergency First Response (EFRI) Instructor Crossover Program

Individuals who are current CPR/first aid instructors with another qualifying organization may earn the Emergency First Response Instructor rating by completing an entire Emergency First Response Instructor Course or by attending an Instructor Crossover Program. This course is normally conducted in conjunction with the 2-day EFR Instructor course.

To enroll in an Instructor Crossover Program, an individual must: EFR Instructor Training
Hold a current CPR/first aid instructor rating with another qualifying organization.
Meet one of the following criteria:

  • Document current authorization to teach pediatric emergency care courses for another qualifying organization; or
  • Have completed the Emergency First Response Care for Children course within the past 24 months; or
  • Complete Emergency First Response Instructor Course Presentation 5 (Care for Children Course Standards and Content) and 6 (Care for Children Skills Workshop) as part of the Crossover Program.

Emergency First Response Care for Children (EFR CFCI) Instructor Program extremely popular, and necessary for anyone with children, working with children or around children is now available. The EFR Care for Children course teaches people how to provide emergency care for injured or ill children and infants. It is both easy and quick to complete as an add-on to the standard EFR Instructor course. This will be required for all EFR Instructors from 1 July 2005. EFR Instructor Training

To earn the EFR Care for Children Instructor CFCI credential, a current EFR Instructor must meet one of the following:

  • Complete a training session with an Emergency First Response Instructor Trainer
  • This may be done separately or as part of an EFR Instructor course.
    Complete an EFR Care for Children course (layperson level) and submit a completed Care for Children Instructor Self-Study Knowledge review with the application.
  • Document certification as a current instructor with another regionally recognized organization and have authorization to teach a pediatric emergency care course. Also, submit a completed Care for Children Instructor Self-Study Knowledge review with the application.
